Does the CX-30 Have Any Active Safety Technology?
The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is available with the optional Mazda’s Driver Monitoring System, which uses an infrared camera and LED to monitor the driver’s behavior. While behind the wheel, this technology will monitor how wide the driver’s eyes are open, the number of blinks, and at what angle the face and mouth are at to assess any fatigue or drowsiness. The system not only looks out for fatigue but also inattentiveness and does so by checking the driver’s line of sight and eye movements. An alert will sound and the Smart Brake Support system will engage if necessary to alert the driver if the system detects the driving conditions have become unsafe.
Additionally, the CX-30 offers the available Front Cross Traffic Alert System and Mazda’s Cruising & Traffic Support system. CTS helps to create a safer driving experience by assisting with steering, brake pedal operation, and accelerator pedal operations during traffic jams.
