Mazda6 LATCH System
Mazda engineers their vehicles with every passenger in mind and the LATCH system helps make sure drivers are installing their child restraint systems without any errors. The IIHS awarded this system in the MAZDA6 with a Good+ rating, which is the top rating they offer. To earn a Good+ rating, the system must provide additional LATCH-equipped seating positions, the lower anchors must be easy to maneuver around, the required force for attaching the seat connector to the lower anchors is less than 40 pounds, the tether anchors are positioned on the vehicle’s rear deck or in the middle of the seatback, and there is no other hardware around the area of the tether anchor that could be confused for a tether anchor.
