Do I have to use synthetic oil in my Mazda

Do I have to use synthetic oil in my Mazda?

One of the great debates among automotive enthusiasts is synthetic oil versus conventional oil. Both types of oil have lots of benefits and ultimately both kinds of motor oil do the same job, lubricate engine components to keep the motor running. It’s rather common for our service department staff to have people wonder if Mazda requires synthetic oil in their cars. Our sales team has spoken with a number of experts and did their own online research. Hopefully, what we have found will help put this debate to bed once and for all. If it has been a while since you’ve been in for an oil change, make an appointment with the Serra Mazda Service Department today. (more…)

Like most things in the automotive world, a little attention goes a long way which will keep you – and your car – happy.  (more…)

What is Mazda Smart City Braking

What is Mazda Smart City Braking?

Providing Mazda customers with safe vehicles is a top priority for the automaker. Over the years, Mazda has worked very hard to build affordable options that will protect drivers and passengers if the unfortunate were to happen and they would be involved in an accident. Mazda has promised that its proprietary i-ACTIVSENSE® technology will be available in some form by Sept. 1, 2022. With that self-imposed deadline is rapidly approaching, several Mazda vehicles available at Serra Mazda are already outfitted with systems like Smart City Braking. (more…)

Best places to see 2017 solar eclipse near Birmingham, AL

Best places to see 2017 solar eclipse near Birmingham, AL

The solar eclipse occurring on Aug. 21 is an exceedingly rare event, on a cosmic scale. This is the first time a total solar eclipse will be at least partially visible across the entire contiguous United States, since June 1918 – nearly 100 years. Unfortunately, our area and the state of Alabama as a whole is at the wrong latitude to really get a good show. However, from Trussville, we will still be able to see a little more than 90 of the moon covering the sun. To really get the full 2017 solar eclipse experience, you’ll have to put some miles on the car and drive over the Tennessee border.  (more…)
