Mazda is in the news once again for its safety performance. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has finished its 2016 ratings. Three Mazda vehicle have been named a 2016 Top Safety Pick Plus by the nonprofit IIHS organization. The IIHS runs vehicles through a gauntlet of challenges. In order to attain a Top Safety Pick Plus, a vehicles must garner a rating of “good” in five body-structure categories that includes small-overlap crash-testing and score “advanced” in collision-prevention technology like automatic braking.
